Aesthetic correction and restoration of bite function
Correcting the aesthetics of the smile while restoring the patient's bite function was possible thanks to the multi-specialist cooperation of our team.
Initially, the missing teeth in the posterior regions were replaced with implants. In parallel, some teeth underwent root canal retreatment to eliminate existing inflammation. The next step was the application of an occlusal splint as preparation for restoring the correct occlusal vertical dimension. In the final stage, zirconia and ceramic crowns were placed on the implants, while the aesthetics of the anterior teeth were perfected with composite bonding.
Due to the unsatisfactory shade of their enamel, the patient opted for in-office whitening with the Beyond lamp. This technology uses an advanced light filtration system that eliminates harmful UV and infrared radiation.
As a result, the procedure is completely safe and comfortable. After only about 60 minutes in the dental chair, a clear brightening effect was achieved, restoring a bright, healthy appearance to the teeth.
This change in smile aesthetics was carried out immediately after the removal of fixed braces.
First, the enamel surface was cleaned of adhesive residue, followed by gingivoplasty. This procedure involved adjusting the gum line over the lateral incisor so that its length matched the size of the central incisor on the opposite side.
Finally, using composite bonding, the shape of the lateral incisors and canines was beautifully modified.
An aesthetic correction of white demineralization spots on smooth tooth surfaces was performed. Importantly, the procedure was completed without any drilling, simply by infiltrating the enamel with a liquid resin (ICON).
It is worth noting that the visible decalcification was the result of inadequate oral hygiene during previous treatment with fixed braces.
Orthodontic treatment of this complex malocclusion was carried out using fixed metal braces. Proclined (flared) upper incisors required uprighting to achieve a correct and aesthetic smile display.
The shape of the dental arches was also corrected, existing spaces were closed, and ultimately, stable occlusal contacts between the maxilla and mandible were achieved.
After the orthodontic treatment was completed, teeth whitening was performed, followed by composite bonding in a light shade chosen by the patient.

The aesthetic issues included the abrasion of the incisal edge of the upper left central incisor and a smaller size of the upper left lateral incisor compared to the opposite side.
