When Should You Consider Composite Bonding or Veneers?
Aesthetic treatments such as veneers and composite bonding offer an effective and long-lasting solution for correcting minor imperfections in your teeth. They not only enhance the beauty of your smile, but also restore the harmonious proportions of your teeth and their proper function.
We particularly recommend them for patients who are dealing with:
- Gaps between the teeth (diastemas and tremas) — small spaces between teeth can be closed aesthetically, while preserving the natural appearance of the dental arch.
- Irregular tooth shape — small, peg-shaped, chipped or asymmetrical teeth can be precisely rebuilt, restoring a harmonious smile line.
- Permanent discolouration — stubborn stains that cannot be removed with whitening treatments can be beautifully masked.
- Worn teeth — the loss of crown height due to natural ageing or teeth grinding can be corrected, restoring both proper function and balanced proportions across the dental arch.
Composite bonding and veneers combine outstanding aesthetics, precision craftsmanship and biological safety — offering patients the long-lasting result of a natural, healthy smile.
Composite bonding is a fast, non-invasive and painless way to enhance the aesthetics of your smile, with results visible immediately after the procedure. It does not interfere with the structure of your tooth, preserving the health of its natural tissues.
Composite bonding is carried out in the following stages:
Shade selection — the composite shade is carefully matched to blend harmoniously with the natural enamel of your tooth.
Tooth surface preparation — the surface is gently cleaned and, if needed, lightly conditioned to ensure the composite bonds optimally.
Application of a bonding agent — this creates a strong, lasting connection between the composite material and your tooth structure.
Shaping the composite — the material is modelled to recreate the natural shape and proportions of your teeth, tailored to complement your individual smile.
Curing with a UV light — the composite is hardened quickly and effectively within seconds.
Smoothing and polishing — the final touch that gives the surface its natural shine and a beautifully harmonious aesthetic result.
Composite bonding combines precision, biological safety and instant aesthetic results — making it an excellent choice for patients looking for a quick smile enhancement without any impact on the tooth's natural structure.
A Veneer is a thin, precisely crafted layer of porcelain or composite material that your dentist permanently bonds to the front surface of your tooth. Its primary purpose is to correct any aesthetic imperfection — from unwanted colour and uneven tooth shape to minor alignment issues and smile asymmetries.
The procedure is minimally invasive, meaning that as much healthy tooth tissue as possible is preserved, protecting the integrity and function of your tooth. Veneers allow us to subtly refine the proportions, length and contour of your teeth, while maintaining the natural appearance of your smile.
Thanks to modern technology, precise diagnostics and the highest-quality materials, veneers are virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth.Porcelain is prized for its exceptional translucency and resistance to staining, while composite veneers offer a fast and safe way to enhance the aesthetics of your smile, with full control over both shape and colour.
Veneers bring together beauty, durability and biological safety — allowing you to enjoy a natural, harmonious and radiant smile for many years to come.

Bonding or veneers - which to choose?
It depends on the desired effect and the condition of your teeth. First and foremost, bonding is faster and less expensive as it involves the manual restoration of the tooth with composite, making it ideal for minor corrections (e.g. closing a gap, chipping). Porcelain veneers, on the other hand, are more durable and give a more spectacular "Hollywood smile" effect, but require more interference with the tooth. Therefore, the best solution will be chosen by the doctor during the consultation.
What is the difference between composite and porcelain veneers?
The difference is mainly in terms of durability and aesthetics. A composite veneer is made directly in the office (similar to bonding) and is a cheaper option, but can discolour over time. A porcelain veneer, on the other hand, is created in a prosthetic laboratory and is much more durable. As a result, it perfectly mimics natural enamel and is resistant to discolouration, giving an effect that lasts for many years.
Does bonding damage teeth?
No. Bonding is considered a minimally invasive method. As the composite material bonds to the enamel adhesively, there is usually no need to drill into the tooth. Therefore, it is a reversible procedure and safe for the tooth structure.
Can veneers fall off?
Properly cemented veneers are extremely firmly bonded to the tooth. Although it happens very rarely, detachment is possible as a result of mechanical trauma (e.g. biting on very hard things). It is worth mentioning, however, that with proper care, veneers serve patients for decades.
