Professional teeth cleaning is a package of preventive treatments that should be carried out regularly (every 6 months). This is essential as home brushing does not remove plaque and tartar. In our clinic in Warsaw, the dental hygiene treatment consists of several stages.
Scaling
Scaling consists of breaking down hard tartar deposits using ultrasound. This effectively eliminates the main cause of gum inflammation and unpleasant mouth odour.
Air Polishing (Stain removal)
The precise water jet with sand removes stains from coffee, tea or tobacco. As a result, teeth become brighter. Even in hard-to-reach spaces, the enamel regains its natural colour.
Polishing (Smoothing of enamel)
By using a special eraser or brush and polishing paste, the surface of the teeth becomes smoother and brighter. Polishing the fine irregularities on the surface of the enamel makes it less susceptible to re-accumulation of plaque.
Fluoridation (Protection)
A preparation with a high concentration of fluoride is applied to the cleaned teeth. This is mainly to strengthen the enamel and reduce hypersensitivity after the treatment.

Overlay whitening is the solution for those who value control. First impressions are taken and then individual trays are prepared. The patient applies the gel at home for approximately 7-14 days. The main advantage of this method is that you can decide for yourself how much you want to lighten your teeth.

She gained her professional experience working with doctors of various specialisations, such as orthodontics, surgery, endodontics, prosthetics and conservative dentistry, among others. In her daily work, she performs teeth cleaning and teeth whitening procedures. She is constantly improving her qualifications by taking part in numerous courses and trainings both in Poland and abroad.

Does tooth sandblasting hurt?
For most patients, the procedure is painless. Nevertheless, those with exposed dental necks may experience slight discomfort. If this is the case, the hygienist may use a surface anaesthetic (gel) to ensure complete comfort.
Does whitening damage the enamel?
No, provided it is performed under the supervision of a professional. In our clinic, we only use certified preparations that are safe for the tooth structure. However, please note that temporary sensitivity may occur after the treatment.
Can I whiten my teeth while pregnant?
We recommend postponing whitening until after breastfeeding. On the other hand, hygienization (scaling and sandblasting) can and should be carried out during pregnancy.
How long does the whitening effect last?
The effect usually lasts from one year to even several years. However, it should be remembered that this depends largely on the patient's lifestyle. In particular, smoking and frequent drinking of coffee, tea or red wine may accelerate the return of the darker shade. In order to maintain the effect for as long as possible, it is worth using whitening toothpastes and performing the so-called reminder whitening once in a while.
What is the difference between sandblasting and scaling?
These are two different but complementary treatments. Scaling is used to remove hard tartar, which harbours bacteria. Sandblasting, on the other hand, removes soft deposits and superficial stains (e.g. from coffee). Therefore, in our clinic, they are usually performed in one visit, which guarantees a complete cleaning and refreshing of the smile.
How much does dental hygiene cost in Warsaw?
The cost of the treatment depends primarily on the selected package and the patient's needs. In our clinic, the price of full hygienization (including scaling, sandblasting, polishing and fluoridation) is 400 zł . However, the basic package (without fluoridation) costs 350 zł . It is worth adding that regular performance of this procedure is much cheaper than treatment of caries, therefore we treat it as the best investment in dental health.
