Why choose a dental implant over a bridge or denture?

Many people wonder about the choice of restoration method. It is worth knowing that a dental implant is the only solution that replaces the root of the tooth. As a result, it prevents jawbone atrophy, which is a natural process after tooth loss.

Key features of dental implants:

  • Protection of adjacent teeth: We do not have to grind healthy teeth, as is the case with the placement of traditional bridges.

  • Stability: Implants are as stable as your own teeth. Therefore, you can eat whatever you fancy without worrying about your dentures shifting.

  • Aesthetics: An implant-supported crown looks and behaves identically to a natural tooth.

Implant solutions tailored to your needs

Single implant

The ideal solution when one tooth is missing. It consists of the surgical insertion of a titanium screw (the implant) and the placement of a custom ceramic crown on top of it korony ceramicznej.

Implant-supported bridge (Several gaps)

If you are missing several adjacent teeth, you do not need an individual implant for every missing tooth. In this scenario, we use a prosthetic bridge supported by two or more strategically placed implants most oparty na dwóch lub więcej implantach.

Implant-supported dentures (for full mouth restoration)

A solution for patients with complete absence of teeth. The implant-supported prosthesis is immovable and stable. This will help you forget about denture adhesives and discomfort.

What does the implant procedure look like? Step by step

We understand that the procedure may cause concern. However, at our clinic, the entire process is precisely planned thanks to 3D diagnostics.

  1. Diagnostics and 3D Tomography: Initially, we perform an on-site computed tomography (CBCT) scan. This allows us to accurately assess the amount of bone and plan the ideal position of the implant, avoiding nerves and sinuses.

  2. Surgical procedure: The surgeon inserts the implant under local anaesthetic. Importantly, the procedure is completely painless and usually takes less time than a complex tooth extraction.

  3. Osseointegration (Healing): This is followed by a healing period where the implant permanently fuses with the bone, which lasts between 3 and 6 months. During this time, you may benefit from a temporary restoration.

  4. Prosthetic restoration: Finally, after healing, we attach the final crown, bridge or denture to the implant. As a result, you regain your beautiful smile.

Does an implant hurt?

No. The procedure is performed under effective local anaesthesia. As a result, the patient does not feel any pain during the procedure. There may be some minor swelling or discomfort after the procedure, so we prescribe appropriate pain medication.

How much does a dental implant cost in Warsaw?

The total cost consists of two parts: the surgical part (implantation of the screw) and the prosthetic part (crown). In our clinic, the price of the implant placement is 3500 PLN, while the crown on the implant costs from 3200 PLN. We always provide a final cost estimate after consultation and a CT scan.

Can an implant fail?

Modern titanium implants have an efficacy of approximately 98%. However, there is a minimal risk of rejection. To minimise it, oral hygiene, not smoking and following the doctor's instructions after surgery are key.

How long does the whole process take?

It usually takes between three and six months from the time of implantation to the delivery of the finished crown. This is the time necessary for the implant to fuse permanently with the bone (osteointegration). However, it is worth waiting, as the effect is lifelong.

Can an implant be inserted after tooth extraction?

Yes, this is the best solution. Often an implant can be placed immediately after tooth extraction (immediate implantation). However, if this is not possible, a healing period must be waited for. It is important not to delay too long so that bone loss does not occur.
