- Regular dental visits — check-ups every 6 months allow early detection of cracks, debonding or changes at the veneer margins.
- An occlusal splint for bruxism — if you grind your teeth, a splint worn at night protects the veneers from excessive loading and fractures.
- Avoid excessive forces — do not open bottle caps with your teeth, do not bite pens, and exercise caution with nuts, ice and hard sweets.
- Limit staining agents (composite) — with composite veneers it is worth limiting intense staining substances (coffee, wine, tea) or having the veneers polished regularly.
- A sports mouthguard — if you play contact sports (boxing, football, basketball), wearing a mouthguard protects the veneers from trauma.

When should veneers be replaced?
